Is CENTRO - UNLOCKED - GSM-Forum

Hi,
good friend of mine bought the Centro for me by Amazon. He don't understand anything in Palming and has no any SIM-card to insert. We will meet in one month, so I can not do anything with the Phone by myself.

Is there the way to know if the New Centro UNLOCKED or LOCKED without insertion of SIM?

Can "PHONE INFO" menu to clear the issue?
Can "Palm-chat" to help me - what info i need if yes?

Do you know what does it means:
"Carrier DB 588"?

Sorry, but you need to insert other carrier sincard to know if is unlocked or locked.
