BB 9700 Bold issue with Unlocking... have code, but...

Hi all,

First off, thanks to all the contributors who make this site a wealth of information! It is truly appreciated!

So, I asked a couple of members for help with unlocking a BB 9700 Bold on the Bell (Canada) network. They supplied the code and I entered it as I should have.

So...

Now that it has been entered, when I turn the phone on, it says "MEP ERROR" and asks if I want to enter an unlock code. When I choose yes, nothing happens!

Also; when I go into the advanced menu, SIM card option, I can no longer enter MEP2 to enter in the unlock code! Is this normal as it is already "unlocked"?

Another thing I notice is that under the SIM card options, Service Provider is still "active". Is this normal?

I hope the phone is going to be alright as it was quite expensive

Any and all help would be truly appreciated!

Thanks in advance...

Sorry for my lack of knowledge; but what is that, where would I find it and enter it? Is it something difficult to obtain? Is it similar to the unlocking code?

Again, any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
