blocked BB 8520 - GSM-Forum

hi, i unfortunately bought a second hand BB 8520 from somebody a few days ago. when i bought it, i just checked that it reads the sim card or not and didnt get a chance to try to make or receive calls as that person said the sim card in it hasnt got any credit on it. then, when i tried with my own sim card later, i found out that i cannot make or receive calls. so i took it to the repair shops and they said the handset was blocked by the network for some reasons. i just would like to know that what would be the easiest and cheapest way to get that BB working again. thanks
