Problem with changing firmware - GSM-Forum

I`ve been trying to change firmware to BB 8120 from at&t to telcel (it is unlocked) i erase VENDOR file, i can install language, but can`t change company brand. Do someboy can tell me how to do it??

yes u can Update at&t to telcel, its need to delete vendor file only but if you want to unbranded that, you cannot. It is hard coded into the phone, like a computer's bios, except u cannot flash the blackberry

yes you can change you branding in phone

is not hard coded

just load with MML secret menu VSM-17761-002 is for telcel mexico 8120
and you phone is like a from telcel

Wow !

i am reading regularly new topic and abt new problem's

example : after unbranded a device all will be non brand but no anyone can unbrand BB bcoz boot-logo & more not changeable in BB

PS: I went to learn abt Brand. also u can share guide .

what you need to do is download Telcel VSM files and use MML loader to Load Telcel VSM on it
before doing this you need to load the MFI on your phone and it take you to Cal Mode (in this mode you can do almost everything)

branding and debranding is old news ,1year ago its begin

now only new devices RTAS protected can`t be debranded like 85xx 8900 9000(newimeis 98..) 9700 95xx 96xx

all other is debrandable and start logo can be easy edited

search for VSM in forum you find 10xx pages about

Well u wan to say u can complete debranded that ?

ps : Abt VSM all have some knowledge

yes VSM is responsible for branding in blackberry
when you change VSM you change branding

this will change your vendor ID and also debrand your BB

i`ve been reading about this, the thing is, i`m sure i`m not doing in the right way, thats the reason of my question. Just details.
