Member: 61131 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | Hi, the maps are located on the memory card, and it's no problem to copy them (just use the usb mode instead of pc suite). (Oh, make sure you can see hidden files and folders) BUT you will not get any new maps this way, they are available on the DVD aswell but even if you rename the maps and place any number of maps on your microSD it's the licens that determin what map you are able to use... As far as i know the only good way is to buy more maps or install an older version (7) or another program (tomtom, etc) Maybee there will be something good in the future but at the moment there is no crack/hack for version 8 (6110 navigator version) Please correct me if i'm wrong (it's my first week with a 6110 Navigator)... Best regards, Niska |

NOW YOU CAN USE NOKIA MAPS WHICH IS FREE AND WORKS WITH YOUR INTERNAL GPS HOWEVER YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE EXTRA VOICE NAVIGATION LICENCE. - ABOUT £6 FOR A MONTH OR £40 + FOR THE YEAR !!! SO WITHOUT VOICE IT WORKS A TREAT. OR ---- OPEN YOUR ROUTE 66 DVD AND CLICK ON ROUTE 66 SHOP THEN MAPS, THEN WESTERN EUROPE ETC ETC UNTIL YOU CLICK ON UK & IRELAND ---- NOT JUST UK. THEN YOU WILL HAVE THE OPTION TO PAY THE ONE OFF IN EUROS WHICH AMOUNTS TO APPROX £33. I DID THIS AND DOWNLOADED THE UK & IRELAND MAP - ABOUT 220 MEG. LIKE THE OTHERS SAY IN HERE YOU REALLY PAY FOR A LICENCE AND THAT IS RECOGNISED AS SPECIFIC TO YOUR PHONE. THE ONE OFF PRICE IS WORTH IT IF YOU CANT WAIT LIKE ME OR INSTALL NOKIA MAPS (EMAIL IF YOU WANNA KNOW MORE). SO I SUSPECT TOMTOM WILL UPDATE THEIR MOBILE SOFTWARE TO ALLOW INTERNAL GPS PHONES TO WORK, UNTIL THEN YOU HAVE LITTLE CHOICE. HOPE THIS HELPS A LITTLE. JUST LOVE THE PHONE, THE INTERNAL GPS WORKS GREAT INDOORS AND OUT BETTER THAN MY TRUSTY BT77 BLUETOOTH UNIT. DAVE | |

For example, I bought mine at Singapore, and so, I have the map of Singapore on the Memory card that was included with the phone. As for the map that shows on the DvD, the file is not there. You have to either buy it from the Route 66 store (which the route 66 DvD allow u to connect to the store). P.S They have the Map of Canada already. The map of Canada is splitted into 2 (western and eastern) I bought myself a Western Canada map and it worked when i transfer it into my phone. ================================================== ===================== debt settlement make money fast online |
