9v Power Supply issue...

Does this AC Adaptor works???... Fits perfectly but I am afraid to connect to the box...

Just New from OpenBox!!!

The problem is that it says on the sticker:

AC Adaptor
Model No: AA-091ABN
INPUT 230v ~ 50Hz. 95mA
OUTPUT: 9v ~ 1A
Made In China..

And maybe it is an European version charger only... And where I am we use 115v ~ 60Hz...

Hope to here from you soon!!! What do you think??

BR!

@moulnisky
I bought an AC Adaptor (another one) now it is 115v and OUTPUT 9v ~ 1A.. Does this will work without any transformation to the original box.....

@gsmbac and @moulnisky
Of course it has to be DC power. Cant be real AC.... What I have is an AC adaptor.. It should mean that tranforms AC to DC.. right??????

and BTW on the sticker should say DC????....

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An AC adaptor has inside only the transformer from 220/110 to 9V AC...
A DC adaptor has inside the transformer, the diodes to rectify and a small stabilizer circuit.
The new ones normally are switching PSU with a real stable 9V= DC
9V~ is AC

Hello Moulnisky,

I came across the thread above while searching for some adaptors similar to the one the user needed. I live in Barbados and the mains supply here is 115V ~ 50Hz, do you have any similar adaptors (output 9V ~ 1A) that I can obtain/purchase? I would actually like about 8 of them, so if you have any, or can direct me to someone who does, I'd be very thankful.

Regards,

A.
