@ karikari,

In order for unlock operation to be completed successfully I927 & I927R phone models suppose to be rooted manually.
Please notice that zergrush exploit wont work on these models.

@ karikari,

Have you rooted the phone manually, as it was mentioned in the previous post?

i927 with Android 2.3.5 or later needs rooted manually

The XDA guys have a guide on the manual rooting process for the SGH-i927.

Don't know that I'm permitted to be any more specific than that.

Once it's rooted manually, than it can be unlocked via Pegasus (and MicroUSB cable), following the Pegasus module for the i927

hit a snag during process; i927 not unlocked, failed

I've done the manual rooting process, using the insecure kernel as instructed (using Windows XP SP3).
Then I used the Pegasus module for i927, with Samsung USB port COM11.
I get the following output in Pegasus:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

[ --- CONNECTING TO THE PHONE --- ]
OPENING COM11 : COMPLETED
PDA VERSION : I927UCKI3
CSC VERSION :
SOFTWARE VERSION : I927UCKL1
PHONE IMEI : ******-**-******-*
MSL ADDRESS : **********
PRODUCT CODE : SGH-I927ZKAATT
PRODUCTION DATE : -
CUSTOMER CODE : ATT
UNIQUE NUMBER : ***************
MEMORY NAME : -
ADB DEVICE : SGH-I927 GINGERBREAD 2.3.5
ROOT STATUS : ROOTED
CALCULATING UNLOCK CODES : FAILED; ERROR : WRONG DATABLOCK RECEIVED FROM SERVER

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Note:
I have replaced certain actual values with asterisks (***), for each place.

Any leads on this issue? Thanks in advance!!!

SUCCESS!!! i927 unlocked!!!

Here's what I did:

* reconnected the phone/USB cable,
* restarted Pegasus,
* re-created the i927 module
* click "Connect"
* click the link for [direct] "Unlock" (now active after Connect)

unlock is not done yet it seems

After the Pegasus unlock process (with output indicating sucessful unlock),
I rebooted the i927 with a T-Mobile SIM card. After power on and screen unlock (swipe), I received a screen prompting for a Mobile Network Unlock Code. Underneath the field was a link to "Unlock (after entering the code I assume)", and another link option to "Dismiss."

I tried clicking the "Unlock" link (without entering any code in the field), but no progress. I then just clicked "Dismiss" and tried to make a call. This did not work either. BTW, the SIM phone number also does not show up in the About/Status.

Maybe I just need to get rid of the AT&T ROM altogether and upgrade Android with a custom ROM, or maybe try a factory reset???
