The Difference between USB and FBUS Flashing.. ## (ANSWERED)

Hi,

Sir alimhape, or any that could understand the process of flashing BB5 phones.

What is the difference between USB and FBUS Flashing?

Why USB Flashing is so speedy compare to FBUS?

Where did USB and FBUS inject codes to flash?

Is it USB flashing also FULL FLASH? Or just update its version? Or partial? or just MCU?

Thanks.

USB have better and safetly in flashing than FBUS
for service repair mostly support in FBUS mode
like :
- backup / restore RPL

It's just from a nebie side

- USB flashing don't touch the software security, so it's savely way to upgrade or reprogram the software of Phone

- F-bus can't touch the scurity of software, so.. it can repair more deeply of of software of the phone

just an opinion

br,
Good, but i'll gonna show you a N97 Mini, problem is NOKIA logo only.

Tru MXkey, I do USB buscheck first, it local mode then I press FLash.

It backup RPL but NPC is empty, but still can back up RPL,that would be great, is that RPL is still useful? When anything happens to the phone? I need your reply, thanks.

if use USB as interface
that "PM as RPL" have SIMLOCK and SUPERDONGLE data
don't have NPC DATA or IMEI
even use "safe flash"

hi,
it's an old thread. next time better for you to open your own one.

your phone got damaged CMT part, and only be fixed by using FBUS flasher (HTI, preferred)
