Thumbs up Changing SMS-Sounds and Stuff with Cruiser 3.30

Hi Lead and thanks for the nice Cruiser Update

I tested the feature "upload files and force to folder '/tpa/preset/system/sounds'".

So i uploaded two midi-files into phone but now i don't find them in phone.

Maybe the filename was wrong?

So could you please explain how i do right?
Greetings, Megaron

edit: GOT IT! GREAT FEATURE!!
If you want i'll write a little "how too-change the most important internal sounds / animations" -doc

i wrote a little "how to change things with cruiser"
Just look five posts below this post

Hi Megaron,

please write some small how-to guide here. It will be helpful. I'll probably put it also somewhere at the site too.

Thanks,

Mizar

Hi,

THAT was a great update!!!
Now it also works to change the CDA in Z1010! Very good!

Only one problem i could not solve:
How to download the language files from the phone to the PC? I get this in Cruiser:
Starting up filesystem, please wait...
Downloading languages...
/tpa/preset/system/language/de.lng
/tpa/preset/system/language/fr.lng
/tpa/preset/system/language/st.lng
/tpa/preset/system/language/zu.lng
Turning off phone...
GDFS access terminated.
Phone automatically detached.

But where can i find these files? In the specified folder and at the whole PC is nothing to find!

BR

Ok, here we go!

How to change sms-sounds with cruiser:

1. Download attachment (k700-filesystem.rar) below! (maybe you'll need the original-files)

2. Attache Phone (K700, K500, S700...)

3. click on "File System"-Tab, enable "Force to folder":
/tpa/preset/system/sound/

4. click on "Upload files to FS"

5. now select any midi-file (should be short in size) and rename it
to "messagealert1.mid".... "messagealert6.mid"...
(look into "sms-sounds"-folder from attachment for the exactly filenames)

6. Press "open" and wait... (or just doubleclick the selected file)

7. You have to replace mid AND amr-file (for speaker)!
If you need a amr-conversation-tool, just download this:
http://www.miksoft.net/mobileAMRconverter.htm

8. Press "shutdown FS".

-----------------------------------------------------------

How to change startup / shutdown-animation & sounds:

1. Download attachment (k700-filesystem.rar) below! (maybe you'll need the original-files)

2. Attache Phone (K700, K500, S700...)

3. click on "File System"-Tab, enable "Force to folder":
/tpa/preset/system/settings/

4. click on "Upload files to FS"

5. now you have to choose any of these files:
- splash (sonyericsson-logo (gif-file))
- SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC (shutdown-animation (animated gif))
- STARTUP_IMAGE_SEMC (startup-animation (animated gif))
- SHUTDOWN_SOUND_SEMC.mid (shutdown-sound (midi-file))
- STARTUP_SOUND_SEMC.mid (startup-sound (midi-file))

NOTE: you MUST use these filenames.
Example: you want to change splash-screen. So you first rename it to "splash.gif". Then edit the graphic with photoshop / paint...
(Imagesize should be 176x220 Pixel)
Then rename it back to "splash" and upload it to filesystem.

6. Press "open" and wait... (or just doubleclick the selected file)

7. Press "shutdown FS".

-----------------------------------------------------------

How to change / add photo-frames for K700:
1. Download attachment (frames.rar) below! (maybe you'll need the original-files)

2. Attache Phone (K700)

3. click on "File System"-Tab, enable "Force to folder":
/tpa/preset/system/multimedia/pe/frames/ (open for more frames)
/tpa/preset/system/multimedia/pe/funlayer/ (only for replace frames)

4. click on "Upload files to FS"

5. now you can select any 320 x 240 PNG-File (256 colors) for a frame;
if you want to add a frame, just upload the file (note step 3.);
if you want to replace a frame, just rename it to an existing filename (look @ attachment (frames.rar))

6. Press "open" and wait... (or just doubleclick the selected file)

7. Press "shutdown FS".

-----------------------------------------------------------

How to delete protected files:
You know these "sonyericsson.gif" "sonyericsson.mid"-files that you couldn't delete from filesystem? Here's how you can delete them:

1. download these files to your pc via ir / bt / cable

2. Attache Phone to cruiser! (K700, K500, S700...)

3. click on "File System"-Tab, disable "Force to folder"!

4. click on "Upload files to FS"

5. upload the file you downloaded before to your pc.
NOTE: don't rename the file

6. press "shutdown fs".

That's it!! Now you can turn on the phone and delete the files by pressing "c".

Have fun!

Agreed 100% with muppet

I think I have an idea here too... maybe these actions could be scripted to make simple decustomization scripts for logos, etc?

Yes, I though it too ...

Or for made an own custumization... That is not so difficult, the only thing you need, is an script file with localpath an destinationpath...

Sample:
Code:
SHUTDOWN_IMAGE_SEMC;\tpa\preset\system\settings\
Or the other possibility: A theme ("full phone" of course) in one file, which can be a zip archive, and there is a script file into, and the otherfiles also directly included. A little modification on cruiser (Lead ...) and it will work...

If there are people interested, I could make a "packer-prog" (if Lead is in agreement [this sentences translated google])...

Greets from switzerland (what explains my very bad english )

Hi guys,

now i have parts of the S700-filesystem for you

So if you want to replace S700 frames, sounds of shutdown/starup-animations, just download the attachements.

Please use this folders:

For frames:
/tpa/preset/system/multimedia/pe/frames/
or
/tpa/preset/system/multimedia/pe/funlayer/

for replacing startup / shutdown-shows and sounds, you need this folder:
/tpa/preset/system/settings/

for replacing sms-sounds and stuff, use this:
/tpa/preset/system/sound/

I also took the S700 startup/shutdown shows and converted them for my K700, which looks realy cool.
Just download "s700_start-stop-ani_on_k700.rar" and PIMP YOUR K700!!

Greetings, megaron

Hello again...

you like to have your own "customized" menu-item(s) in your K700???

NO PROBLEM

Here's how to do with cruiser 3.4 and higher...:

Download my attachment (cruiser-icon.rar)
it contains two photoshop 7 / cs-templates for creating own menu-items (normal and selected)

Just make a cool, stylish icon and save it for web as a PNG-24 (with transparency).

Then you can use a simple txt-editor for editing the xml-file.
You can edit the title-text and a favorite url.
Save it, then turn your k700 off and attach it to cruiser.

Go to "file system"-tab and select "force to folder"-feature.
Use:
/tpa/preset/system/custmenu/DESKTOP_HOOK_1/
as the right folder, if you want to change the first item.
(you can also change the second menu-item (...HOOK_2))

Then press "upload files to fs" and upload the three files to fs.

Be carefull and always check the right filenames, before uploading to phone:
DESKTOP_OPERATOR_SEL_ICN.PNG
DESKTOP_OPERATOR_ICN.png
DESKTOP_HOOK_1.xml

Very important:
these changes in mainmenu are only visible until you make a master reset!

If you want to have the changes "forever", then go get a tar-compression utility, pack these files as a tar-archive, rename it to "DESKTOP_HOOK_1.itm" and upload it to this folder:
/tpa/preset/custom/

Hope you like my tutorial. And: USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Greetings, Megaron

Really nice work. I noticed something else you might be interested in:

/system/wap/profile

Contains your wap profiles. This will be great for customers wishing to have their new provider's wap settings.
