Unlock A2618s/A2628s - Cruiser/Fighter? - GSM-Forum

Hi!

Now and then, some people want's old phones like A2618s/A2628s unlocked (don't ask me why).

It would be very nice, if I could unlock these phones with Cruiser. It seems like Fighter can do it, but I can't use Fighter with my Cruiser dongle.

You may say, that I should just other solution, but I don't have any COM port on my primary PC, and the programs I have that can unlock these old phones only work under Windows 98! It's pretty much work, when I need to unlock these phones (I have to find an old PC, and put in an old HDD with Windows 98).

Can Cruiser support these old phones, or can we be able to use Fighter with our Cruiser dongle somehow?

I though cruiser had full fighter compatability ??

If you look in the phone selector menu on the prmary tab, those old phones are listed, so cruiser should be able to unlock them.

I actually don't know if Fighter can/could unlock these old phones - some guy just suggested me to use Fighter for it - but I can't.

Cruiser support these phones, but only for flashing - not for unlocking (I don't know why). Take a look in the about box.

Cruiser can't do it, use a com cable for it, and this attachment

...even works in XP

Use the Cruiser cable, it fully emulates a COM port.

Well, I've already unlocked the phone on the old, dusty Windows 98 machine - but it seems like I can do this in the future (I've just unlocked the phone - again) - thanks.

Now I only need programs for other old phones not supported by Cruiser.

got Cruiser but it won't unlock old T28

I already have that, and (as you write) it only works under Win98. It would be nice if more old phones was "unlockable" under Windows XP. That's T10, T18, T20, T28, T29, A1018s, R250, R310, R320, R380 etc.

It's not often, but it happens - that a customer want's a phone like this to be unlocked. Actually, the A2628s I've just unlocked has never been used before - it was "new"!
