Why will cruiser not work? Any help pls

Okay, clean isntallation on XP

Download the latest

FWRestore (v1.10)
Supplimentary (v1.04)
Cruiser (v10.42)

Install

Plug in licence dongle and USB lead ... windows detects hardware but cannot find drivers. Point it to c:\program files\cruiser\ then relevant folder
Now look at device manager and all seems to be installed, I have:

e-gate USB smart card
e-gate virtual reader enumerator

The only things not installed are:

multimedia audio controller
video controller (vga compatible)

Obviously not them

Run cruiser and it works, but the relevant COM ports do not light up (they used to) so I have no number to click.

The only one that works is "USB" but if I click this it says

System diagnostics passed
Version 10:42 ready
Do NOT connect the phone at this time

... so obviously sceptical

Why do I not get my COM port numbers up?

What is wrong?

Also tried 10.30 to no avail

Same on Vista on different PC - I'd LOVE to get it working on Viata

All drivers from www.microengineers.cc/cruiser/

Any ideas?

Thanks
