UFC suggested improvements

Just got my brandnew cable today and already have some little trouble with this nice cable set.

First, i cannot get any connection with any phone with any connector - finally after more minutes of tweaking, found out that RJ45 connector to my UFS is loose and not meshing well, i tried holding it while connecting to the phone and voila!!! i got a response, but i can't do this everytime i have something to work with so i decided to replace the connector from one of my "old" unused RJ45 connector and all works well.

Second, factory workers seems to be sleeping while doing this and resistors got swapped and different from the one indicated on the selector switch. I have to do this modification to get the right reading from RJ45 pin3 to green grabber clip:

And third, pogo pins used is rounded tip type that slips easily with minimal movement, i suggest they use one with rough tip like the one used on sagem jigs - strong yet small and grips the pcb well.

and hopefully they can add a power supply jack so that we can inject additional power to the cable (parallel to v+) that is very much needed for flashing/unlocking units like n82 and n95 8GB.

Thank you!

RJ45 none-meshing is kinda rare (i have a VERY OLD 1st gen big UFS box) - but could explain why others are not getting any response or erroneous response. Personally, i love that rubber that protects the RJ45 lock, it helps a lot if you have tons of cables hooking with each other.

About the soldering? well, it's hand-made, and there's always a first time for errors and maybe others are not checking their values, i do mine.

thanks for the notice. UFC by GPG rocks!!! no need to update cable every now and then (i have already TONS of them - eyesore for some. hehehe!)

and by the way, Gong Hei Fa Choi!!!

@others, trans:
Gong Hei Fa Choi = happy new year (cantonese)
More correctly:
Gong Hei = wishes for
Fa Choi = Prosperity (luck, wealth, health, new births etc)
Mandarin: "Gong Xi Fa Cai"

Bro i have some small question, after the modification, thus this model still work with other nokia models and how about the value of the resistor to the cover of the UFC do we need to change it also or just leave it as is?

Tnx in advance

hi. yeah cable works normal. you only need those extra power when unlocking/flashing n958g, n82 and the likes (those that can't stay on local mode long enough)

about the label, in my particular set i have to interchange the resistors to get the right reading as indicated on the cover -- so, its either you interchange the connector or you rename the markings. btw, i think 8.2k is better that 7.5k

as for where to tap the supply:

red wire..is +
so there you must put the extra voltage.
make extra voltage on red and black..+ and -
and will be ok
sometimes problems can be from low power from usb port..measure the outline power of the usb com from pc..should be around 5V
if lower..can get problems with a lot of phones
