lumia showing QUALCOMM MSM DEVICE, how to change it for flashing?

I have Lumia 720 (RM-885) and Lumia 710 (RM-803)
that drives as "QUALCOMM MSM DEVICE", Please what
does it mean and how will I solve it to be able to flash
the phones?

Thanks!

Does it mean that no body knows the solution out?

Sorry don't have privileges to post link but input "710 qualcomm msm driver" into forum search box and look for post dated 27/03/14 by GSMWorld; this driver not required to flash and need to remove if it has already been installed upon PC.

@lionfinger2007

Look at Device Manager and check VID/PID of USB device.

You will see it in Properties --> Details --> Hardware Ids.

It should be something like

USB\VID_05C6&PID_????

The PID Value is important to know...

So we will know how to solve your problem.

First, try to Charge the 720 Battery externally using external charger. If your 720 is really dead, then it will not charge battery at all.

Once you give correct PID for both 710 and 720, then we can suggest solution.

Here are what I saw on the both, please help me out;

720 = USB\VID_045E&PID_062A&REV_0000
USB\VID_045E&PID_062A

710 = USB\VID_05C6&PID_9006&REV_0000&MI_00
USB\VID_05C6&PID_9006&MI_00

This means phone is LOW BATTERY and it is Charging the Battery.

Try to charge it first for few hours via WALL Charger. If it still cannot POWER UP, open phone and check voltage of Battery +/- when it is disconnected form the phone's PCB.

You can either repair boot via eMMC TP (FREE NO NEED ACTIVATION)
or via ATF JTAG (NEED ACTIVATION)

More Info you can find here:
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f609...830-a-1830880/

710
VID_05C6&PID_9006

Is your phone detected as a new HDD Drive?

If it is not detected as a HDD Drive, then phone is probably BOOT dead and you need to repair boot via eMMC TP.

In ATF eMMC Direct tab in Windows Phone section, there is a button labeled "RESTORE DLOAD" which does what that tutorial says in 1 click.

This only works if phone is detected as a mass storage device (HDD).

For 710 (RM-803) when I connect it, it will prompt

"You need to format the disk in drive F:before you can use it. Do you want to format it?"

Then if I checked DEVICE MANAGER, it detected as "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 9006 (COM91)" under "Ports (COM & LPT)"

If I go to the eMMC Direct, the "Restore DloaD" is not highlighted, Please how will I solve it?

Click SCAN
Then when the phone mass storage is detected, restore dload will be highlighted.

Make sure atf software has admin rights on windows
