Dead Ipad 2

Hey members, I got Ipad2 for cheap because it has power related issues...

I tried to diagnose it via these methods:
  1. USB to pc -> No reaction
  2. Charged it for a bit -> nothing
  3. Disassembled it and inspected PCB with microscope -> good PCB, no damaged parts
  4. Checked main VCC, it's 3.7v stable
  5. Checked PP_3v3 is jumping 3.3v to 0v.
  6. Charged battery

What I think the problem is Power IC, because pp_3v3out is jumping like crazy, and this line is responsible for powering CPU (don't quote me on this)...

Any suggestions to what to check next?

Hi.. I had an ipad 2 with the same symptoms. Do you know what caused the problem? a small piece of metal in the display connector on the motherboard. Removed the intruder, the ipad and returned to work. this does not mean that your problem is the same. It can also be a very small capacitor shorted to cause the problem. You have to test the whole circuit. Good luck!!
