Home Button Broken (not another noob thread)

Heya!

1. Stupid as I am I tried to replace my connector dock for my 3G phone with a 3GS dock connector. It didn't take long to realise that connector 4 didn't fit.
Afterwards my home button went unresponive.

2. Trying to fix the problem I wished to bent the homebutton irons, but unfortunatly one broke off.

3. I replaced the homebutton but it still does not work.

4. It does not work with my original connector dock but also it does not work with the replacement connector dock (3G this time) I bought.

5. The replacement connector dock has an aweful lot of glue on it

My question is... Based on above information... What is wrong with my Homebutton... Should I order another C-Dock. Install yet another homebutton. Or have I broken something on the motherboard.

Thanks for your help!
Akariko

take a good look to your charging/usb connector on pcb. Maybe you have destroyed some contacts on the connector on pcb or dock.

You are shure that your home button ist OK? You can test the hombutton function without the homebuton. Shortcut the 2 contacts on dock with a metal pincette for test the function.

check no 4 connector. maybe you crushed some pins while you try to force 3gs connector on to it.
