iphone 3gs searching/no service - GSM-Forum

Hi,
I have a 3gs 16gb running IOS 5.0.1 Unfortunatly! With baseband 05.16.05
When i insert a sim All it does is search for a network and then say's no service. And keeps repeating this cycle.
The ICCID of the sim is recognised by the phone. And also the IMEI is recognised it is not blocked/barred. I have tried cleaning the sim carrier and the sim card but nothing seems to fix this issue. Perhaps someone on here may know the answer. Please help! Thanks.

Is it factory unlocked phone? If not I guess you must get it either factory unlocked or update to iPad Baseband and unlock with Ultrasn0w.

Is it happening with official carrier sim?

Hi yes it is happening with official carrier of phone vodaphone. Locked to vodaphone! It was working ok untill update to IOS 5.0.1 It was not me that updated it, As i would not of.
I thought about jailbreaking it and flashing the baseband. it has ios 5.0.1 on it. But i can still do by using ios 5 in redsn0w i think. I have done this before but not sure if this will cure it. But then it will be tethered yes! Thanks anyway.

Did it work for you by flashing to iPad baseband? It appears to be the problem with Network IC.There was a thread on this forum with hardware solution.

Hi i have flashed with the ipad baseband but still no luck. The phone is still searching and then say's no service with official carrier sim installed. But it still recognises the iccid of the sim which is strange. Do you have any other solutions thankyou for your help.
