iPhone 6 direct charging jumper possible?

Hi, a good customer gave me an iPhone 6. It had U2 IC problem, the board is good but not accept charge (fake charging). We tried to replace U2 still same problem. Board works perfectly fine, only will not charge battery.

I get +4.7V at the charge port connector. What would happen if I run a jumper wire from charging port connector direct to battery terminal.

Of course never do a job like this for a customer. This person is a friend and he knows already phone is dead. Buy why not just run cable and battery will charge and phone will survive?
