Iphone 6 no power, not charging

Hi,

This is a strange problem, I originally replaced the screen and battery and all was good for a month. Then the phone gets returned as the screen is blank, which I assume is the backlight.

No opens or shorts on the backlight circuit, although the top looks to have come off the backlight IC and that will get replaced.

I think there is a further issue with the phone, as it is stuck with a charging current of 1.2A, it doesn't come on/detected by a PC. I ran a cable from the logic board to a PSU in place of the battery and when the power button is pressed, it draws 70mA, then 50mA then nothing in about 3 seconds.

Does this sound like a Tristar failure?

TIA

Try to find out where is getting hot, all those Amps are being transformed into heat, battery usually draws 0.25 while charging.
What's the history on the iphone? changing the screen has nothing to do with mainboard shorts or failure other than you worked on something else... if you shorted the backlight for not disconnecting the power it should had short right then and not a month later.
