iPhone 6s No Home button works? My niece brought me her iPhone 6s a few weeks ago, Touch ID was working but the home button wasn't. She wasn't too bothered about the touch ID so i just put a replacement button in, that worked intermittently for a week or so, now it doesn't work. Tried putting her original button back in and now it doesn't even recognise it for Touch ID or as a normal home button? It's not the screen that's at fault as I've tried a new screen just incase the flex was faulty. I'm assuming there's a fault somewhere on the board, anyone know the best place to start? |
I think the first thing you want to do is try to restore the phone in DFU mode and see if that solves the problem. If that doesn't work you could try taking diode mode readings at the the home button connector on the motherboard and compare it to the known good values. If you don't have a known good motherboard let me know and I can take some readings for you. You could also take some diode mode readings at the connector on the original home button and the new home button and see if there is some major discrepancy. It might give you a hint about what's going on. |
Will try and see if I can convince them to do a DFU restore and see where I get with that Thanks for the advice |
