pin detection

auto pin detection.....does this mean that riff box can detect jtag pinout for unknown models as long as cpu is supported??

little tutorial about pin discover

CPU without glue:

- need to know the cpu pinout (factory pdf)
- remove the cpu
- discover the pin's with multimeter
- reball the cpu
- resolder the cpu

CPU with glue:

- phone with same family cpu (ex: msm 82xx) ad of course know pin's
- multimeter
- check the known pins and gnd via ohm meter (without power!)
- check the known pins and gnd via volt meter (with power!)

a little exaple:
the left side unknown pins value the right side is the know pins value

Why tdo not pin25 but pin23??

Pin 25 has same resistance with correct pin, has more less voltage difference(0.16v)than pin23(0.36v).

Is there a standard to measure difference between these voltage or resistance data????

not the values count only but the position, the jtag pin's are near always to each other

yes i try same result. The riff solution is better bcose no need to short circuit the pcb before use the ohm meter. There are many capacitors on the pcb because of what we receive a bad result

@jodge
I have a question for you. I was trying to unbrick 3 different phones with my Riff but I always get that there is a problem with the RTCK. I measured all the pins of the Riff and I got 0 volt from RTCK, TDO and 2 mores....
It's that normal or that indicate that my box it damaged.

Thank you for your help.

did the riff never work yet?
the first thing pls put into the trash your cable set, (read the sticky topic pls), the second you try to connect a working phone. the best choose for testing the samsung (only "connect and get ID" no need resurrection bcose the phone work, and follow the help). Third you MUST solder all wires. If not success pls contact your dealer
