HTC Magic problem - GSM-Forum

Hi there!

I got bricked HTC Magic from which I had to get off some black staff to see the proper contact points. The problem is I got damage a transistor, so this Magic can't be resurrected.

Now I got one more HTC Magic; this one works!

This time I think I have all contacts free. Any idea why while trying to connect and get ID with Riff Box the message is:

Open serial port...OK
Connecting to the RIFF Box...OK
Firmware Version: 1.17, JTAG Manager Version: 1.29
Selected Resurrector: [HTC Magic 32B]

Connecting to the dead body...ERROR
Set I/O Voltage reads as 2.60V, TCK Frequency is RTCK
Model selected: HTC - HTC Magic 32B

ERROR: The RTCK Signal does not respond.

It should work, shouldn't it?

I've tried it just with battery supply, with battery and data cable connected to PC, turning on while getting ID, but it didn't work.

What am I doing wrong? Any suggestion?

Forgot to let you know I am using the HTC Magic G2 pcb, no need to solder.

1. Update Your box firmware and software to latest versions.
2. Carefully read sticky topics (RIFF Section RULES first)

Well, my last try was with my own phone, Galaxy S i9000. Phone is working, I placed board on jtag and got the following message:

Open serial port...OK
Connecting to the RIFF Box...OK
Firmware Version: 1.24, JTAG Manager Version: 1.32
Selected Resurrector: [Samsung I9000]

Connecting to the dead body...ERROR
Set I/O Voltage reads as 2.81V, TCK Frequency is 8 MHz
Model selected: SAMSUNG - Samsung I9000

None is detected.

Probably Riff Box has some problem. I will contact team via ICQ.
