Data Recovery - Options And Suggestions For HTC One X [ Tegra ]

Hello Blang ,
This is one of your aspiring reseller .I plan to carry and resell Z3X Soon .Anyways coming to the point i Have a data recovery case from a client .This is a HTC PJ46100 [ Tegra ] . In The Z3X Shell i Could not see any selection for this .Anyways In The Support section i have downloaded everything for Tegra One X HTC .The Two pinouts are as below .

HTC One X Tegra Side A

HTC One X Tegra Side B

Question : I Am Using The Following Adapter By Moorc .Its called the " Jpin ISP Adapter " . The Photo is as following under .Even If i Connect The USB Cable to this adapter do i still need to connect usb power to HTC Tegra Board "This is stated in your pinout image " . Also is 3.3V required or 2.8V .As this Board Seems To output 2.8V .The Other Voltage 1.8V is All OK .The eMMc Seems To Be The " KMK2U000VM " .What i Like To Do is Read The eMMc To Extract User Data .Can you tell me which partition will have this Or i need to read full dump .Currently we have to " Recover Data " . Once This is Done i Will Look into the option of "Repair/Recover " .

Image of My Moorc Adapter

Hi,

You don't need to plug usb cable.
Connect VCCQ to 1.8V on adapter, VCC to 2.8V on adapter, solder CLK, CMD, DAT0 lines.
Don't forget to make short as shown on the pinout.
!!!! Also possible mfg mistake in this adapter, sometimes 2.8/1.8 outputs are swapped.
So, measure real voltages on the adapter.
If Identify eMMC fail also try to plug usb cable into phone then remove it.

Regards Viktor

for data recovery, you can read all EMMC
or just the most big OS partitions.

tips.!
read +- 10MB &
open in WinHEX / Forensics &
interpret As Disk.
you will find User Data Partitions.

of course 10mb is not usable for D.R
since the data needed not reside there.!

that +-10MB read is only for to find MBR/GPT (EFI PART...samsung.?)
& may be 1MB enough.

if you know where userdata partition reside,
you can read from that address (userdata partitions start Addsess.)

and you can mount that image on linux (FAT32, Ntfs, ext3/4.) & just copy the data normally.
or if the userdata partitions FAT32 you can use ImDisk on Windows.

if partitions structure damage, rstudio etc become handy.
and you must read the hole EMMC.

open the partition & compare it with good known magic number and or header.

or you can use logic.
almost userdata partition is BIG & formatted with universal filesystem (FAT32.?)
it is, so it can be accessed in different variety of platform / devices.

for FAT32, magic number UŠ (HEX 55AA)

if you use rstudio etc, ignore all of that Technical details & just open the image & menu scan.

sample sam part from physical sector 0

& easy jtag have facilities Read Soft Partitions. use it.!
