Restore data from eMMC KMVTU000LM-B503

Hi Blang,

My Samsung Galaxy S3 (I9300) is dead (stuck on Logo), I have desoldered the eMMC and tried to recover my files and infos Easy JTAG Plus but I get always this error: Can't init device, Reason: OCR Ready Timeout Error [Check VCC or eMMC DEAD]. I use Easy JTAG box with Moorc E-Mate Pro (Adapter 11,5x13) bought from GSMSERVER. the eMMC is good reballed. please guide me to recover my files and other infos. I don't want to repair eMMC or use this old mobile, I just want to get back my files and infos.

is there any way (tool or addon in Easy JTAG) to check up if all pinouts or contacts are connected? like ex. EPR Box (look this youtube video https://*********/RjIzx0VppaM )

I think your emmc is dead. So at the moment no any way for recover data. If you need only repair emmc then update emmc firmware with tp.

This error usually pops up when eMMC is sadly dead. Since you already desoldered the chip you can try to read it with testpoint. If it can be read that way you can try to update it's firmware and it might work, but you'll data will be gone. Either way, you'll see if chip is completelly dead or it's in fact only firmware issue.

In such case, if data is really important you can send it to a company that does data recovery directly from the NAND chip inside the eMMC but it's a costly procedure and does not guarantee success either.

What do you think, can I restore my data from this chip? is there any Settings to Change in EasyJTAG Plus to scan the Partition in Explorer?

It looks like you can read the chip with testpoint and it has a bad name - 00000. This looks like firmware error and if you'd upgrade its firmware then eMMC would probably work but data would be gone. Had one eMMC like that, did those, and data was wiped on mine after firmware update. Connecting the chip with testpoint attached doesn't give you access to data on the chip either, it's only firmware update mode.

I don't think there is anything you can do to recover that with EasyJTAG or any other eMMC only box. You'd have to try dumping data directly from the NAND chip inside eMMC package bypassing the controller. Here's an example on how it looks on dead microSD card with Rusolut tools. Process for eMMC is similar.

Hi
When you see "OCR" error it's mean FW controller is damaged
so you can't read/write even with TP
so i think better way is forget your data then just repair your phone
