Z5 unlock cable question - GSM-Forum

Hi all,

I bought a cable for a SIM-locked Z5 (please see http://www.pecmobiledata.co.uk/acata..._Sony_257.html for a picture). The description says it can be used to unlock the phone.

I have tried two pieces of software to no avail - the Z5logger way and also a bit of software that takes the IMEI as an input and resets everything.

Neither of them work - could it be that I am using the wrong cable, since it would seem that the PC is not communicationg with the phone?

nope ...this cable is no good...did you download the prog from one of my other posts??

cable should have a 9v battery connector attatched to max232 interface...you could do this yourself

3+6 is connected to 9V+ve
1+4 is connected to 9v-ve
if you have it connected up correctly when program says ...."press red button" it should come up and say "z5 detected"
this program used 100's of times on win 98se without any problem.

Hi friend I've the same problem with Z5 data cable, that I want use to unlock!

I don't understand fine how to modify my cable!

Pls, If possible for you to post a real picture of modificate cable?

try this

black wire added to wire going to pins 1 and 4
red wire added to wire going to pins 3 and 6

red and black wires go to 9v battery
