Android 5.0 - S5 & Note 4 variants

No need to downgrade... to 4.4xx

Wipe Efs via menu.
connect via UART cable
Tape the battery...
Write Imei with Ocotpus Box -- Manual select com port....
Have done more than 10 phones using this technique.... really hoping usb solution would be available soon....

For note 4 - you would have to restore nv items to repair network....

If you are wiping the efs files via service menu no need to root. Writing cert via uart and writing the qcn do not require root.

I am for sure now that the reason we cannot write certs via usb is because lollipop creates a new EFS version (just like when phones went from 4.1.2/4.2.2 to 4.3) and that new efs version can only be read by lollipop modems. Until we can figure out the new format/security of the new efs verison writing certs via usb will not be possible..that is why both z3x and octopus cannot read the imei from the phone.

How do we write Certs via UART? Octopus is asking to connect via usb debuging.

Did all the steps but not working:
Platform: Samsung Android
Selected port: COM4
Selected model: SM-G900A
Selected file: Cert-SM-G900A_XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX_00000000000 cert
Proper android device not found. Make shure that "USB debug" option on the device is turned on.
Certificate has been written successfully
Please, restart the phone to apply changes

Now the computer won't see the device (tried two different computers)
