Samsung Galaxy Alpha Canadian fixed via cert - GSM-Forum

Hi Forum,

This is to report that I have fixed the Galaxy Alpha Canadian variant SM-G850W with cert file and was able to push via Octopus. Unfortunately, z3x was not able to do it and their Admins are not humble enough to admit a mistake... anyways to fix G850W / A/ other variants use the Octopus Box...

Steps

1. Root using Chainfire (Please donate him). We use his root everyday and the man works hard and find root for various devices.
2. Get a cert. How to get a cert... (lay your prayer mat and ask *** for forgivness, once he forgives you the cert will appear in your email inbox).
3. Flash via Octopus.

Its not a bad idea to take a backup of NV items / Qcn / Efs just in case.

are you using uart or usb? also which phone model did you select to wipe efs/ write cert on octopus. I am writing g850f cert on a g850w but no service after

He use usb as u can see in the log checking the root and phone is rooted it means he use the usb because when you use the uart u don't need to root the phone.

I know the g850f cert is not compatible with g850a, but is the g850a cert compatible with g850w?

As the other guy in Canada tell the cert g850w is compatible to g850a.Do u have g850w or g850a cert?

Octopus Team,

The G850W8 doesn't work with new software had to downgrade to 1.81 to get it to write the cert... plzz check....

Try, and Software will automaticaly check, whether IMEI Certificate is compatible with your phone.

That is correct... G850f and G850w have different Imei key... so the are not compatible.... unlike G900t which works for G900a
