Chapter 1 Description
1. Objective
This document is providing the information for AutoCard installation, operation and other information. The operating system includes WINDOS95/95OSR2/98/98SE/2000/NT/XP.

2. Uers
AutoCard is a powerful tool for most IC card DIYER. It has user-friendly interface, simple and optimized operation design. The AutoCard is suitable for those newer or expert users.

3. Structure
AutoCard is designed and made by BIOS007 at the beginning of the year 2004. It made read/write card much easier than before. Once the data loaded, it will automatically select the operation mode. The system includes:

a.Hardware
The hardware is the lowest physical layer of whole system. It will accept the operation instruction from software and then automatically change to corresponding mode. So that to avoid human error during the operating.
b.Software
Software sends all the necessary command to hardware based on the data loaded. Its controls all hardware activities by sending the control instructions.

4、Features

The AutoCard is most advanced IC card writer in the market currently. It is designed based on practical, intelligent and concise philosophy.

Even AutoCard is designed for DIYER market, but its quality is fully controlled by a professional team. Its concise design and multi LED indication provide more convenience for end user.

AutoCard can write 84,877 and 8515 cards. It works with general software such as icprog, phoenix, fumprom. Tha hardware will switch automatically based on the software.
d. More Flexibility
The AutoCard is able to change operating mode itself intelligently. It will correct the mode automatically if a failure occurred in AUTO mode during writing procedure. It comes with a mode selection button to provide more flexibility for those advanced user and advanced DIYERs.

Chapter 2 OS Requirement

AutoCard itself is OS independent hardware. But the control software is developed on the WINDOWS OS. It supports WINDOWS95/95OSR2/98/98SE/2000/NT/XP.
1. Minimum OS requirement: PC with WINDOWS95 OS
2. Recommended OS: PC with WINDOWS98 OS.

Chapter 3 Installation

1. Hardware Installation/un-installation
Installation:
----Open package, take out the AutoCard and cables.
----Power off the PC.
----Connect the USB cable.
----Connect the LPT cable.
----Connect the RS232 cable.
----Power on the PC.

Un-installation.
----Power off the PC.
----Disconnect the USB/LPT/COM cables.
----Power on the PC

The red LED on the AutoCard will be light up once the installation completed. The red LED indicates that the AutoCard is powered up and in a auto mode.

2. Software Installation/un-installation

Installation:
----Open package, take out the AutoCard CD .
----Put CD in to CD-ROM drive and the Windows will run the setup.exe automatically.
----Select a language and then click on “Next”.
----Click “Next” until installation started.
----Wait for “Installation Completed” message and then click “OK”

Un-Installation:
----Click on program “Un-install AutoCard” icon in the Windows program menu.
----Click “Yes” when confirming the un-installation appears.
----Click “OK” when “Un-installation completed” appears.

If your WINDOWS does not run the setup.exe automatically, then you need to run the setup.exe manually.

Chapter 5 FAQ
1. Please list all cards type which are supported by AutoCard.

Currently, AutoCard supports general IC card we can find in the market. Such as GoldCard(core chip are PIC16F84+24LC16)、SilverCard(core chip are PIC16F876+24LC64)and some varieties (like PIC16F877+24LC128. Known as CopperCard). It also supports ATMEL90S8515+24LC64 (8515) card and varieties.

2. What are the LEDs for on the AutoCard?
The LEDs are the AutoCard operation mode and state indicators. Those mode are (start from red LED): Auto(normal) mode, JMD mode, PHOENIX3.58 mode, PHOENIX6.0 mode, 8515 mode.

3. What is the AutoCard’s button for?
AutoCard has a mode selection button. The operation mode will be changed once the button pressed. The current mode is indicated by LED. In case of auto detection fail, the mode should be selected manually by pressing the button. In this case, the software should be used based on the mode selected.
4.How to connect the AutoCard with PC?
There are three connection ports on the AutoCard. They are COM, USB and LPT. Simply connect those ports t with PC.
5. What software works with AutoCard?
There is integrated software for AutoCard . It integrated Icprog、Funprom and other gereral card writer software.
6. When should upgrade the AutoCard?
AutoCard currently already supported most of IC card writing. However, designer (BIOS007)will continually pay attention to the latest IC card techonogy, and will do more modification and improvement on AutoCard.
