If yes what firmware it was flashed with?

Try performing following operations with the new Sigma Software v1.29.02 and post here results please:

Download and install Sigma Software v1.29.02
Download and reinstall drivers for ZTE Orange Boston
Run Direct unlock operation according to the manual
Post log file along with the results in current thread

Current firmware version was added to the list of supported for the fast Direct Unlock operation with the Sigma Software v1.29.04.
Please perform following operations:

Download Sigma Software v1.29.04
Install it
Manually reinstall drivers for Orange Boston to these one, it is recommended to use drivers from the Sigma official web site in order to have stable communication with the phone
Run Unlock operation once again

Don't forget to post your results in current thread.

I managed to get things done on virtual win xp PC (yeah the dead one

) using AMOI driver... mine WIN 7 PC will not work with this phone in any way....
