This happens when the lcd isn't compatible with OS6 and above. You have to install OS5 for it to work properly. To install OS6 you will have to purchase genuine lcd. The one you have is aftermarket.

Regards,
It should be simple if you do the following:

1. Download and install BBSAK tool to remove current OS. Click the 'Wipe Device' button.

2. Download and install Blackberry 9700 Ver 5 from Blackberry Site

3. Delete the Vendor.xml file in c:\Program files\common files\ Research in Motion\Apploader or do a search if not found

4. Launch loader.exe from that same folder. Click next then connect blackberry.

5. Select the apps you need. If unsure click next.

6. Wait until device install complete

Try this and let me know

Sorry for the typo. It's 9780. The link I sent is for 9780 though so no worries. Just select your phone model and look for os 5
