I have a different problem, I have an imei but is a wrong one, i think someone tried to change it
I have network but in the moment I make a phone call, the telephone crash
Can i use this procedure to restore the original imei?

Dont' work for me and have 5 new pcs with this problem of imei null/null, again these are brand new so I don't think is hardware, same thing happen me with S3 i9300 but I fixed with Z3X, but for S4 i9500 this function is not yet avaliable, so I think have to wait...

I had the same problem. I've tried everything. Write EFS from another phone and received FAILED TO MOUNT EFS INVALID ARGUMENT . After the OCTOLUS release the new update, which helps to restore EFS, I launched my phone and have imei NULL/NULL. It’s hardware problem, and i solved it without changing any ic.
