how to write imei on galaxy S3 I9300 international - GSM-Forum

last week my friend got his S3 I9300 on SDS ( suddent death syndrom ) we try to connect to pc,charging,download mode,recovery mode,none of this is working, so we decide it to go to samsung service center..and they told us to change the mainboard for the cost $150..but the problem is they said they can't inject the IMEI it's because the S3 that my friend got is from other country, he bought overseas..so my question is ..is that a way that i can write/inject IMEI to that phone without box???..could someone guide me how to do that.. any guide are appreciated

I wouldn't say its impossible but quite hard to find the way? btw, what' your imei now. Is it Null / null or developer imei(0049.........). There are few tricks to get network even if your imei is damaged. just search gsm and xda.

well ..right now is we are still waiting for some positive answer, until some one give us tutorial or link how to change IMEI, then we go again to samsung SC for placing board..thanx bro for u're respond..and we keep searching for the answer..

Please take your phone back and Do JTAG, then full flash, then your phone will have 0044.... IMEI, Then using Z3X box to rewrite IMEI, You dont need to replace board
