Musemage - Get that cinematic look

Apple on Thursday updated its App of the Week promotion with the app Musemage. For the next 7 days, you’ll be able to grab the photo and video editor for free on both iPhone and iPad—a savings of $4.

Musemage is jam-packed full of features to open up your mobile device’s camera like no other app can. Those features include various camera lenses, filters and effects, a manual mode and blue screen mode.

Platform game Eggggg - The Platform Puker has been named Apple's App of the Week, and as a result, it is free to download for the first time since it was released in October.

Described as a two-touch platform game about vomit, Eggggg features a main character, Gilbert, who has a severe allergy to eggs. Eating eggs makes Gilbert vomit, and the vomit mechanic is used to propel Gilbert through 21 levels infested with angry cyborg chickens and other obstacles to overcome.



The game features smooth controls designed for mobile devices, and it comes with a sticker pack that can be used in the Messages app. From Apple's App Store description:

With Free App of the Week, we highlight a great app you can enjoy at no charge this week. (In-App Purchases sold separately). A severe allergy to eggs isn't funny -- unless it hatches a fantastic voyage through a world full of golden nuggets, homicidal chickens, and puke. So. Much. Puke. Apple on Thursday updated its App of the Week promotion with the game klocki. For the next 7 days, you can pick up the popular puzzler for free on both iPhone and iPad—saving you a buck.
From the App Store Editors’ Notes:

This absorbing puzzler is so minimalist there’s no start screen, no logos, no instructions—it just begins. We quickly got list in the challenge of rearranging titles, Rubik’s cube-style, so a single line runs through each pattern. Apple has made electronic music-driven infinite jumper game Beat Stomper its Free App of the Week on the App Store. Usually $2, this trippy little game has been rated at least four stars by over 650 gamers for its frenetic jump-and-hold mechanic, combined with a rousing soundtrack which adapts to the action unfolding on the screen.

Neon-drenched graphics and rapidly strobing particle effects are par for the course in this vertical high score chaser. Gamers control a little square that jumps high into the air with a tap on the screen. Another tap forces the square to stomp down, hopefully onto the next platform. With platforms moving from side to side, timing is everything. Not only that, the movement of the platform also impacts the direction you jump in. This from the App Store editors' notes:

Absolutely exploding with style and energy, this infinite jumper challenges you to guide little leaping block people up, up and away into musical heaven. Using taps to hurl your angular avatars from one shifting platform to the next, you'll aim for boosts that'll rocket them even higher – or at least keep them from plunging to their game-ending doom.

From the App Store Editors’ Notes:

This deceptively simple puzzle game is pure Pythagorean pleasure. GoPro today announced a new feature for its iOS and Android applications called "QuikStories," launching within a rebranded app that's now simply called "GoPro" [Direct Link], which works in conjunction with another app called "Quik" [Direct Link]. The company described QuikStories as way for users to easily share cool experiences to social media that they captured on a HERO5 camera.



Similar to Apple's Memories feature in the iOS Photos app, QuikStories accumulates recent footage captured by the user and generates easily-shareable videos on the user's smartphone. This removes the need for users to go through a cumbersome editing process for shorter-length footage that they just want to share to social networks like Instagram and Snapchat.

To make a QuikStory, users have to pair a HERO5 Black or HERO5 Session GoPro device with their smartphone, open the main GoPro app, and pull down on the home screen, which begins the process of copying the latest footage to create the QuikStory. The main app communicates with the Quik app so users don't have to jump between the two.

"QuikStories is our biggest leap forward since the invention of the GoPro itself," says GoPro founder and CEO, Nicholas Woodman. "QuikStories is the simple storytelling solution our customers have been dreaming about for years. It's an absolute game changer."

If deeper customization is desired, users can also add their own text, slow motion and speed effects, alternate filters and soundtracks, edit the video's length, and more. On the Quik app's description within the App Store, the company said that transitions are automatically synced to the beat of the chosen song, with users able to import their own music from iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, and more.



Users can leave the app while GoPro creates their QuikStory, and then a push notification will alert them when it's ready. From there, it can be shared on Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Facebook, and via text and email directly from the GoPro app.
