ECU Read VW Bora 2.3 Mk4 - GSM-Forum

Hi, can anyone tell me why I keep getting an ECU read failure when using a 1260 OBDII Programmer on a VW Bora 2.3 V5 petrol 150bhp..?
I've even tried removing fuse 11 & 15 for clocks but with the same result.

What year is VW? Is software your using canbus compliant?

Yeh, it's a MK4 with OBDII.

I'm using Galleto 1260 s/w with a 1260 cable.
Recognises the ECU then reads but times out, very odd.
I've tried removing fuses 11&15 for clocks but doesn't help, any ideas?
