Member: 1764309 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I had to step away from the computer a few hours and interesting, the textbox on the redbox had a long string of the "k" character in it? No one has been around. ??? After 3x attempts in the redbox, a smaller box pops up "system disabled" but nothing else - no reference numbers. I have since shut down the machine and did the 3x blue password attempts and now I'm back to the in the red Enter Onetime Password is up on the screen. Just above it has Key: 9XRT-JXH9-K92J-DTVD The serial is SERIAL 27505131-3009891. And the number you provide is what I should type into the current red dialog box, yes? Only once. If it doesn't work it does no good to try it the other 2x? I know I'm getting very specific but want to make sure I'm doing it right. |

Rebooted and just to see, typed #1 in blue box then #2 then #3 and now back to red onetime password box with key: KFJP-XHVF-68T3-VFHJ. I feel certain the serial number is 27505131-3009891. I am careful typing in the code(s). In the blue box the characters are masked with an * but I see the numbers in the red onetime box. Know you are busy but really need some help. | |

Member: 1764309 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | @Isantana - SL3Fastservice sent me one for they One Time Key you generated a code for but it didn't work. He/she sent me another one with my new One Time Key but it didn't work either so I'm on a new Onetime Password dialog box with the key: KFJP-XHVF-68T3-VGHJ and serial number 3009891. Anyone have a guess as to why the codes are not working? Here's a bit of history on this machine. My friend thinks that her ex-husband (they were friends, not enemies in divorce) may have done something to it to somehow spy on her. She believed him to be very technically advanced. Unfortunately, he also passed away in January so we have no way of really knowing. Can some kind of spyware be integrated into the bios? If so, could that be impacting why these key codes do not work? Just wondering. This is a nice, clean machine we would like to get operational again but can't afford to send it off to have the bios replaced, etc. I wiped the hard drive using a DOD level formatting utility to make sure there's nothing on the hard drive but now this bios thing? Appreciate any help anyone can help to get this like new machine back in service. |

Member: 1764309 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Maybe it's not generating the 'reference' code? Step by step I'm doing: -boot to bios with blue 'Enter BIOS Password': -I put in bogus numbers and hit enter -screen displays white box with red text, 'Warning! Invalid Password. [continue'] -I repeat the step above and get the same message -I repeat a 3rd time and get a different dialog box -This box is red and says, 'Enter Onetime Password' -Just above this red box it displays a 16 digit 'Key' -I've tried the codes previously provided and each time that white box with red text displays, 'Warning! Invalid Password Re-enter Password [Continue] -On the 3rd attempt a white box with red text displays, 'System Disabled' There are no further numbers that display. I can only reboot the machine. I have and have gone through the blue boxes again. It currently is displaying that red box with white text, "enter Onetime Password:" The text above the red box displays Key: V737-2K9F-H296-F8PJ For clarity, the key you so generously are helping me with (thank you!) I'm supposed to type into the current red box and hit the [Enter] key, yes? Previously, the Invalid Password box pops up. If it does, do I retype it again and then a 3rd time if I get the Invalid Password dialog? Should it make it to the System Disabled dialog box, the generated code is no longer valid if I want to restart the system and try it in the first 3 blue password boxes, right? I realize these steps are very elementary to you but since it's not worked so far, I want to make sure I'm doing something really, really dumb in the process. Again, what I'm leaving on the screen until I hear from you with a new code is: V737-2K9F-H296-F8PJ and the last 7 of the serial is 3009891. I verified the serial number sticker on the bottom matches the system serial number by using a basic software utility which displays system info. Again, appreciate any and everyone who is contributing. It seems strange it is not working. |

Member: 1764309 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hate to be a bother but i'm concerned I'm going to get a screen burn in keeping the Onetime Password box up for a long time. If I see no reference code after 3x attempts for Onetime Password and only get the dialog box "System Disabled", is there no feasible solution? |
