I approached the Engineer in the CDMA section of BSNL office and he wasnt able to help either. Also contacted BSNL customer care and got the same response. Also one of my friends has HTC Desire VC used the EVDO sim in that model and was able to connect to 1x data but not EVDO.
Abhilashken got 1x data working on EG111 but I cant. Firstly i would like to at least get 1x data, I think there is something amiss in the phone settings or apn settings in EG111 some help will be highly appreciated....Thanks..

Hey relax

don't panic cause having being frustrated wont help.
First of all no apn required, just make an access point with any name you want and any acesspoint you want but just set the dial numbr to #777 and save as default, nothing else, it will get connected to 1x.

Hey Buddy,
This is Abhllash from Jamnagar, Gujarat.
I have Micromax Canvas EG111 and suffered a huge loss of 13k when i came to know that my phone cannot run evdo , but yet it shows both the signal of 1x and evdo, but when i connect to internet it connects only to 1x not evdo. I want you to give me any contact details of that BSNL technician who helped you with your HTC VC.

Also i want to know about the evdo speed capability of your phone(HTC VC) , cause mine (EG111) is 3.1 mbps but there in the post you've mention 2.4 mbps and also bsnl has increased its bandwidth to 3.1 mbps
Whatsapp me if you find convenient with that.
Waiting for your reply.
bye.
