sprint iphone 5 (6.1.4) unlocked to ATT but E data only - GSM-Forum

Hi.
I got my sprint iphone 5 (iOS 6.1.4) unlocked to AT&T (t-mobile, and straight talk in USA) using Rsim8 but only Edge data even though I have tried with patch and activation code.

Here are the patch I already tried but no luck. The activation code was given by the reseller and was compatible with all three patchs:

RPTH2 EN (rpatch[dot]com)
R-SIM 4S，5 code ( don’t remember the link)
R-SIM5E (from reseller)

Anyone know how to get 3G or 4G data?

Your problem might be 2 things..

First Down Load the New PATCH from R-SIM PATCH | iPhone 5/4S 3G & SMS bug fixer

1- with the new PATCH you can set the APN of the carrier you want to use 3G after Patching.. Our new APN setter included with the PATCH will do this for you..

2- Another reason why some clients cannot get 3G after PATCH is because they DO NOT Swith the PATCH profile ON before reboot..
The new PATCH gives you a Loud Button to make sure you DO NOT forget to Power On the PATCH..

3- Another careless reason maybe when you fail to select CHINA UNICOM button which has 3G presets... Please use Unicom

1) I used regular sim cut-into nano sim. Should I use this patch (RSIMNANO3G)?

test it but i think not work bcuse this is for nanosim just test it and post result here

Try my fix, let me know if it works

Grab your original simtray from apple. Put the sim card in you want to use. Slide the package into your iphone and wait till it gets signal and till activation menu pops up. Then put your simcard back out and open settings>general>about, scroll down till you see what your provider is, for me it was Sprint 14.5.7 and it's now T-mobile 14.5.2. YOU MUST HAVE THIS ( you'll might have a different carrier but it should change!!!!). Put your RSIM with the sim you just used into your iphone, menu might popup (no problem if it doesnt) and select your original carrier and your iphone. Then reboot your phone (even if it didn't pop up) and 3G should work fine!!

However, just wanted to ask you if you got 3G with any of US networks?
What I saw in your post is T-mobile 14.5.2. Is it US T-mobile or Germany T-mobile?

I doubt about getting 3G or 4G with US networks. It maybe due to the phone itself.

Sprint iphone 5 is CDMA model (A1429):
Tri-band 2G CDMA (800 (CDMA over ESMR), 850, 1900 MHz).
Dual-band 3G CDMA/EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (850, 1900 MHz).
Penta-band LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5, 13, 25: 2100, 1800, 850, 700c, 1900 MHz).

3G of AT&T need 850 or 1900 Mhz
4G/LTE of AT&T need 700 MHz or 1700/2100 MHz AWS or 2300 MHz WCS

I also heard someone here say "hope Apple will fix this in iOS 7"
Or Rsim team will work together to release special patch for sprint iphone 5 to get 3G signal in US. So far, I dont see anyone getting 3G in US

I have tried unlocking an iphone 5 using Rsim 8 as well and all I could get was edge no matter what I did. I've done HOURS of research and I have yet to see someone give a concrete solution. The poster who posted the instructions is right alot of people forget to turn the patch "on" before rebooting. I've done this and my "carrier" shows up as "carrier lab 16" or something. But no matter what again, I keep getting E when I used to be on HSPA on a jailbroken 4S using gevey. Will an Rsim8 gold make a difference? This really is annoying the distributors advertise it works but it doesn't.
