one question...
can i programing at89c4051 throught this TAFE PROGRAMMER and soft ICprog?

hello krab,

I think, the programer is usable to program the 'C4051 because the programming method is same with 'C2051. And if the ICProg not support this programmer, you can write a simple program to use your programmer

I tested it !

You can program 89c4051 with this programer... and use IC-Prog 1.5

About IC-PROG and JDM. What chip is better and easier to program ? 12C509/P or 12C509A ?

all easy and all works very good i think it is for a clip
use verify during programming not after wards
or else it will say not working or sutch error because most of the time u will use cp then it will not verify afterwards ofcourse

i contstruct TAFE PRoGRAMER yesterday and doesnt work

1 - must be conected pin20 to VCC and pin10 to GND/of at89c4051/?
2 - how much must be voltage on ext power /???in scheme is 15-20V???/
3 - can i replace 74hc174 with other like 74als174?
4 - wich value /EPP or normal or....../ of LPT in bios must be set?

p.s.: im using original tafe software and ic-prog 1.5 without succes

......sorry for my very bad english

Only differance between C2051 & C4051, is 2K and 4K memory.

1) Yes U mast connect Vcc and Gnd To pic and also to 74hc174,
2) extal voltage must be about 15 v it's for lm317 to create 12 volt for enable pic programing,
3) Use EEP
About 74als174 i don't know

U must be very careful in study of scheme also atention for conect VCC from 7805 to 74hc174 and also u must put +12V to pin20 and GND to pin10 of 89c4051
On my site is original software for tafe programer and try playing with BIOS /EPP,ECP+EPP,normal etc.../
I must use tafe programer on another comp/P200/, because on my is not working..

at89c4051 pins

pin 20 = VCC (must be +5V) NOT +12V
pin 1 =RST/VPP (for write +12V)
