    Debrand W810i

    Hey there,

    I was wondering if there was a way to debrand a W810i without having to buy a clip. I'm sort of short on cash and I wanted to get rid of cingular's restrictions on the phone.

    I found the firmware for W810s (W810_R4EK001_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED49.rar and W810_R4EK001_FS_AMERICA_2_RED49.rar) but i'm not sure if these are going to work well or not. If there's a free solition, that would be great.

    Let me know!!

    Hey there!
    While I was waiting for a reply I found another way to do it which worked pretty well. It's also a LOT easier than the method that was linked in this post.

    I'm going to go ahead and list the steps. (Props go to Lemming @ forums.se-nse.net)

    Step 0:
    Download the USB Flash Drivers from: Here and extract them to any folder you like. Once you get XS++ working and your phone in flash mode, it will ask for these drivers.

    Step 1:
    Download XS++ http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=6805

    Step 2:
    Download MAIN and FS for your phone. (Mine was a W810i branded with Cingular) You can find them at TopSony or http://www.iprotebe.cz

    Step 3:
    Extract files and connect phone. Just follow the instructions on XS++ to connect your phone. After that's done, just browse to your MAIN and FS files that you just downloaded and click the check box on "Customize File System", select the phone model you have, and then click the language that your FS supports (in my case, AMERICA2).

    That's it, just click flash and let it do its thing!!

    *Note* This process can take up to 5 hours!!! (Took 2.5 on my phone.) So make sure you have the time and the battery to complete it!!!

    Enjoy you guys!! This is MUCH easier to do than the other process, and it's FREE!!!

    Oh yeah, and I used W810_R4EK001_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED49 and W810_R4EK001_FS_AMERICA_2_RED49. The process worked 100%!! Keep in mind that in theory, this process can be used for any other RED49 phone. I havn't tested it, but it should work.

    @ yousaf22us

    100% tried and tested 3 pieces, mine, my brothers and a freinds all were done with mediterr firmware re tutorial @ first ( which works fine if u dont mind ure fone being romanian by default but can change language time zone etc in phone settings), then i used my local FS and MAIN and got my cda back to normal etc.
    i wouldve thought the BF method in XS was on the same level as xs-xs-far-xs non bf method, cheers though 4 inputs

    @war6763

    WELL DONE M8, 4got about that method because it takes so loooong. once you master the 4 easy steps it takes to de-brand without bruteforce it takes approx 12 mins max. and thought you be best to try that way as u will get sick and tired of BF very soon if you want to start making your phone the shizzle. and you only do 3 off the 4 steps when putting files on fone,

    1) open XS- flash breakloader = 5 blocks and takes 2 seconds, once 5 blocks are sent just click the X to close XS as it "appears" to hang but hasnt.

    2) open FAR- upload accoustics, camdriver,flash menus, set up flash standbys etc etc = aslong as it takes you to drag and drop files to correct paths)

    3) open XS- flash main .mbn takes about 2.30 mins 344 flashblocks.(finalizing)

    @THE CLASH

    thanks for encouraging the dude, hope it will do the same for others. do you know where i can get a patched w810 firmware?? as i see you are a very resourcefull dude

    respect to all

    Oh yeah, just letting you all know, it took about 7 hours to brute force my phone second time around it needed to be done... It's a nice backup plan, but i'd use the other method if it works for you...

    I get the stupid error...
