Maybe thread starter didnot downgrade firmware to 2.2
so it woukld be compatible with baseband files 2.28.00
at first I also had a unsuccessful try but after reading procedure and apprehending it well
that's my first mistake then all went ok

why don't you try to put smart on an iphone with 2.30.03 modem without modifying it..
