checking your BL verstion and downgrading the baseband if you have 5.08- the easy way

as we all know you can downgrade the baseband 2.30 to 2.28 if you have BL 5.08 (by ge hoz)
many ppl (and me) had some problems fining out which BL they have.
i found an easy way for you guys here it is-

SW you need-
1. open SSH on your i phone- from cydia
2. winscp on your pc- from- http://www.brothersoft.com/winscp-download-20706.html
3. mobile terminal on you iphone- from cydia
4. this rar- http://rapidshare.com/files/22001926...2.28.00_DG.rar

things you need to do-
1. download the files from number 4 above
2. SSH your iphone with winscp
3. extract the file to any directory (i made a new one called "patch")
4. after the files are in the directory, right click the BBUpdaterextreme and change the premmision to "755"
5. close SSH and winscp
6. luanch mobile terminal on your iphone

now, to check the BL version type-
1. "su"
2. password- "alpine"
3. to get to the folder you`ve put the files in type "cd" and the folder, for me-
"cd /patch"
4. "launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
5. ./BBUpdaterExtreme queryversion"

now, look at the output-
Boot Loader Version: ICE2_BOOT_06.02_G2M3S2 - you cant downgrade
Boot Loader Version: ICE2_BOOT_05.09_G2M3S2 - you cant downgrade
Boot Loader Version: ICE2_BOOT_05.08_G2M3S2 - you can downgrade!!

if you are the lucky one of 5.08-
type-
1. "./BBUpdaterExtreme update -f ICE2_02.28.00.fls -e ICE2_02.28.00.eep "
you are downgraded!!

if you downgraded and if not, type-
1. "launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist "

I tested first part found that I have gl 5.09..
this was made by hoz, "iPhone master" so it will work for gl 5.08.

you can jailbrake the phone adding cydia on the menu of quickpwn or launch the iphone via usb cable with iphone browser and do it from there. i am not familiar with that process. farther info can be found on youtube or the various iphone forums.

hey man read the instruction and dont screw for everyone you must have BL 5.08 that written in big ENGLISH letters so READ IT !!

It works if you have bootloader 5.8 and that's what's being repeated for days. The solution developers deserve better comments and encouragement because as and when the solution is released it's released for free thereby benefiting everyone.
