How To Downgrade iPhone 3GS/4, iPod Touch 3G/4G and iPad 1 From iOS 5.1 To 5.0.1, 5.0

As you all know, Apple has recently released iOS 5.1 to the public along side the new iPad. If you have updated to iOS 5.1 and hasn’t been satisfied with what it had offered or you want to go back to Untethered Jailbreak. Here is how you can downgrade your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch from iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1, 5.0, 4.33 to have Untethered Jailbreak.


The first things you need to know:

About The Non-A5 Devices [iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1, iPod touch 4G, 3G]

• You can Downgrade from iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 /5.0 using custom [COLOR=#0072bc !important][COLOR=#0072bc !important]firmware[/COLOR][/COLOR].
• You can Downgrade from iOS 5.1 to iOS 4.3.5 /4.3.3 /4.x using custom firmware.
• You must have your saved SHSH Blobs of the firmware you are downgrading to.

About The A5 Devices [iPhone [COLOR=#0072bc !important][COLOR=#0072bc !important]4S[/COLOR][/COLOR], iPad 2]

If you have an iPhone 4S, the basic rule above is really the only rule: you cannot restore back to 5.0.1 once the 5.0.1 signing window is closed, no matter what (even if you saved your SHSH blobs).
If you have an iPad2 with saved 4.x hashes, you can in fact downgrade to that 4.x but you won’t be able to get to 5.0.1 once the 5.0.1 signing window is closed (even if you saved your 5.0.1 SHSH blobs).

Downgrade iPhone 3GS/4, iPod Touch 3G/4G and iPad 1 From iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 / 5.0

What You Need:

• Your Saved SHSH Blobs for the firmware you are downgrading to.
• Download iFaith [Windows].
• Download iTunes.
• Download iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5.0 for your iOS Device.

Step #1: Open iFaith, Then Hit Build “Build *signed* IPSW w/Blobs”
Step #2: Point iFaith to your saved SHSH Blobs.


Step #3: Now, Point iFaith to the IPSW corresponding with your saved SHSH Blobs [ iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5.0].


Now, iFaith will verify your IPSW.


Step #4: Click on “Build IPSW” then iFaith will start cokking your custom IPSW signed with your SHSH blobs.


Step #5: Click on “Proceed”.

Step #6: Now, Connect your iOS Device to your computer and follow the on screen instructions to put your device in DFU mode.

Step #7: Launch iTunes, Hold the “Shift” button and click on “Restore” and point iTunes to the custom IPSW iFaith has cooked signed with your SHSH Blobs.
Congrats, That’s it.

What You Need:

• Your Saved SHSH Blobs for the firmware you are downgrading to.
• Download Redsn0w [Windows / Mac]
• Download iOS 4.3.5 / 4.3.4 / 4.3.3 [Download only the firmware you have saved your SHSH Blobs for]
• Download iTunes [Windows / Mac]
• Download TinyUmbrella [Windows / Mac]

Step #1: Connect you iOS Device to your computer, Launch Redsn0w, then Head to Extras > Pwned DFU and follow the on screen instructions to put your device in DFU mode.

Step #2: Here we are going to fool iTunes into thinking that it’s connecting to Apple server’s while it’s really connecting to Saurik’s server.
Windows Users
Head to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ and locate the file named as “hosts”, Then open the file in Notepad.

Mac Users
Head to Finder > Go > Go to > etc > “hosts”, Then open the file in TextEdit.

Add the line below at the end:

74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

Step #3: Open iTunes, Hold the “Shift” button in Windows or “Alt” in Mac, click on restore and point iTunes to your IPSW.
Step #4: Some times, iTunes will throw 1013 error, just ignore it as it’s very normal when downgrading. Now, your device will be in Recovery Mode with your desired version of iOS fully installed.
Step #5: You will see a screen like this [recovery mode loop]. Just open TinyUmbrella to kick your device out of recovery mode.

I have iphone4 CDMA try to downgrade from 5.1 to 5.0.1 , I did all steps and in step #7 itune give me error 14 .
I change the usb port and restart my pc but no way every time give same error.
plz help.

Bro Open Tiny Umbrella And Tick On Start Tss Server.
And Do Restore With 5.0.1 Custom .Ur Phone Will Downgrade Succesfully and phone goes to dfu mode.
open redsno0w and tiick on just boot tethered right now.

hi i hav one ipod touch 4g having the problem is "Ipod is isabled" then i had restored it in 4.3.5 restore firmware restore complete but ipod is now in dfu mode how to fix it plz i m in problem help me all friends , now i need my ipod on in any version of firmware.
