This does not work for me. I am on 3gs with updated BB 6.1.5.
I cannot get it to 4.2.1. I am stuck (but working and untethered) on 4.1.

Would really like to get back to 4.2.1, since that is where by only backup is at.

And you need to jailbreak .Because iphone won't acept custom firmware

for downgrade os 4.2.1 to 4.1 you don't need tiny umbrela !!!
to fix error 1015 with redsn0w select <<just boot tethered right now!

to downgrade to 4.1 with itunes just restore ! after that you will get error 1015 then will need redsn0w or rec boot ! to fix ! error 1015

Yes on ios 4.1 its working .what about on 4.2.1 ?
