Problem with my iphone 3.1.3 in pakistan, SMS contacts is different than normal contacts?

Hey everyone, one more question lately, my iphone has been a little weird,
well, ever since the beginning. Here in pakistan when someone sends me an SMS message
I receive the +92 prefix (country code).
So in my phonebook I need to have the person in there +92 and their number for it to
show up in the SMS list as their name.
Then when someone calls me, it shows up as the number, with no +92 prefix, and it's not recognized.
I don't understand... How can this be fixed? I want ot leave only one number, either +92(number)
or (number) without the 92. I bet the +92 will be
necessary because of the SMS. But it's not recognized as a phone number when someone calls!
Any ideas? Solutions? I've tried to search on it,
but it's search criteria is actually quite .... strange... so I didn't find anything searching.
