iphone 3g can't restore - GSM-Forum

hi my iphone don't restore every time i try i get the 1603 or 1604 error...
i have tried everythingi found on internet...even closed itunes and reopen in the middle of the processes...and i always have to hard reset the iphone because it wont stop cycling the restore process...

It means my logic board was fried?
Any help will be really appreciated.

You are trying to restore wich version? 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 ? restore or custom? wich version i tune using? wich os in pc xp or vista..give me correct details ,,

i have the same problem try to restore to new version will not let me do it now the fone is in recovery mode. how do i fix this problem

If just download v3.1.3..then restore by file..working perfect in vista..some times i had problems to restore in xp. geting error..then i use vista then working 100%

if i update to 3.1.3 so bootloader also updated and cant unlockable
and when iphone 3gs try to restore with 3.1.2 always give error

iam trying to restore 3.1.2 iam using windows xp itunes 9.0

Thanks for trying to help me,

i'm trying to restore 3.1.3 original version not the custom one...itunes is 9.1.0.7.9 and im using win7 in my laptop and i have a winxp im a pc too with itunes 7.7.1...

No matter what pc i use always i get a nice 1603 or 1604.....

to restore the iphone with that version of firmware you must use the version 9.03

Itunes 9.03, otherwise it will give you error 16 .....

Itunes 9.03 still gives me error 1603...
but thanks for the tip pepe44.....

if the problem is in the logic board how can i fix it?

Hi, on the itune tab, click on help > check for update see if you have everything up-to-date first, then if still same problem, try to find a Vista 64 bit PC to restore it again, many times when I have the 1604 error, it all fixed when I use the Vista 64 bits OS, last thing is to restore with a Mac OS PC, hope it help you.
