Arrow iPhone Downgrade Firmware 3.0 to 2.2.1

1. Attempt a restore of 2.2.1 in DFU Mode ( If you doesn`t know, look down at the text )

2. Get the iTunes error message.

3. Reset device

4. Launch QuickPwn

5. Press next and get past the first 3 steps.

6. Bam, phone is fixed.

EDIT: It does work, just tried. iPhones baseband will still be updated but 2.2.1 works fine on it.

Iphone in DFU Mode:

If you are getting error (1) or error (6) while downgrading the firmware, you need to put your iPhone in DFU mode before you can restore or downgrade the firmware.

Step 1. Turn off your iPhone.

Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.

Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.

Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.

Alternative Method:

Step 1. Connect iphone to USB then listen to the sound when it connect and disconnect.

Step 2. Hold the home and power buttons until hear the disconnect sound then release power button.

Step 3. Wait until you hear another sound then release home button.

Alternate Method: Going Into DFU Mode Without Button Pushing: (on windows) Easier than timing the buttons just right!

1.) You have downloaded the DFU.zip

2.) Extract the archive to the root of your hard drive, should be C:/DFU/

3.) Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes

4.) Goto Start - run

5.) Next type in “c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu”

6.) Wait for iPhone to show a “white” screen

7.) Now you may proceed to downgrade!

It is absolutely possible to use redsnow for jailbreaking either 2G or 3G, I myself have done many pcs. For ur problem u should try on another machine or try to download redsnow 0.8 again. It should work.

Iphone in DFU Mode:

If you are getting error (1) or error (6) while downgrading the firmware, you need to put your iPhone in DFU mode before you can restore or downgrade the firmware.

Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.

Alternative Method:

Step 1. Connect iphone to USB then listen to the sound when it connect and disconnect.

Step 2. Hold the home and power buttons until hear the disconnect sound then release power button.

Thanks bro for your post. How did you downgrade? What version of Itunes did you use? I've tried and retried but keep getting errors. Phone remains at OS3.
Why to downgrade?
Because after updating to OS3 wifi does not work. Wifi was ok with 2.2.1
I have this problem only on one phone 3G 16GB locked to Orange France
Kindly help with the downgrade. I want to go back to 2.2.1 and see if wifi works again.
Thanks

so...
for itunes 8.2, i is impossible to comunicate to 221 dfu level, since apple change something in dfu drivers .
for downgrade firmware from 3 to 2.2.1, you need a trick to get your White screen, and restore firmware to 2.2.1.
i success to do with custum firmware, but it is not a proper solution because application crash at the end, but when crash you get your white dfu screen and you can resore to 2.2.1 with 8.2.
if i fouind good way i will post here.
