iphone OS 4.0 is available for mac only not for windows - GSM-Forum

hi all

i just tried to put 4.0 in my iphone 3gs but not succeded so when i checked reviews i found that its just available for mac system only in windows get error 13. so plz verify before restoring

Is there any way to install the firmware with Windows? What's the difference on the Mac? I have no Mac, so how should I do that?

In another thread someone recommended me to install VMware (Player version is free) and run OS X 10.5.5 (download via torrent) and do it from there. The Mac OS crashed for me on boot, but it seems to be a good direction to go.
