Itunes Error 29 while flashing 3GS with 3.1.3 - GSM-Forum

Hi yall,

i tried to flash my Iphone 3GS hang on USB icon with 3.1.3 but iTunes just shows Error 29. I tried with different USB Cables as PCs and usb ports.
How can i solve this problem?

i think you are traying to do restore not update

i tried nearly everything but still same Error 29 !!!!
tried different ports, different cables.
On the Screen i see the apple logo and a stripe but just to 50% then turns off auto.

how can i solve this prob?

do not restor just put your phone in dfu mode and conect with itune and press restore message comes up download and rupdate just press yes and wait all will be fine post result

i just get Error 1601 or 1604!!!
The screen still black.

the issue is water damage. I have same iphone here 3gs 3.1.3, trying to do restore.. now it will not get out of recovery mode.
i opened the iphone and checked there is water damage.

29 error is not water damage, there is way to solve restore problem easily.

i have the same problem. iPhone won't start or restore anymore.
When it restarts, it shows the apple logo and the circle but not under the apple logo but directly above the menu button?
Never seen this before..

Can't restore with pc or mac tried pwnage, redsnow, blackrain and so on
but don't want to try normal restore with iTunes because it will get locked again. And as we all now there is no possibility to unlock 3.1.3
i get different errors 1603, 1604 on iPhone 3G

For me ERROR 29 Is water damaged or shortcut etc....

For 3G you may try with others firmwares, not only with 3.1.3.
