first of all u must search in the forum for what u want and u will find all the solution here second this version 2.2.1 still without any look special with the modem 2.30.03 only with the x-sim repl or uni and if u bought ur i phone from a legal company such as orange vodafone any from this companies soo u will be able to update and use it normally and safely
if u already know all above so it will be hardware solution and i think its so far to go to it know

u cant downgrade the modem version soo use the the extra sim repl or uni

There r threads claiming that this modem firmware can b downgraded, but not sure. U can use a turbo sim to get ur iphone working...
