hi iv read a few things here saying u can now change the imei number of the iphone 3g is this true?

my reason is i thought i had lost my iphone at work (on a building site) so i immediately got it blocked and the insurance replace my phone with another iphone ,

i then found my iphone almost a week later when doing the finishing of the job and it was pretty banged up but still usable

what id like is to change its imei to my new iphones imei so i can use one for work and stick my sim into the shiny new one when not working ,

which also helps with the battery life issues if i can jus swap phone

so is this possible or am i just reading things wrong

no u can't change imei u can REPAIR imei
imei data is saved on phone's memory &can't be changed it's REad only Data
