Keen to learn

Hello all,

New to the forum, I live on the Gold Coast QLD Australia.
I have been repairing phone hardware for a while, now I want to learn about the software side of things.

I'm finding it very difficult to get started, I have a few tools like Dolphin Clip, ATF Nitro, Octopus Box, but information on how to properly connect the phones to these devices is hard to find.

I'm very keen to get into this, and I would be very grateful to anybody that can provide me with helpful information on flashing/repairing etc. I may even be able to offer payment for valuable advice.

I look forward to talking to you.

Johnny

Please, that would be appreciated.
I have a nokia 1616-2 and a 2626, I have managed to connect both of them so they are recognised by AdvanceBox, I'm not sure what I should do now to practice on them.

Any advice?

go to official support section,
click "Search this forum", and search by model number.
(or search by error message which you are getting)
if you get a big thread with many pages, click "search this thread"

official support sections:

Advance-Box - GSM-Forum

Thanks, but what I mean is, for a newbie like myself, what might be a good procedure to start with?

Most of those links are full of test logs, screenshots, and videos of the screen during a procedure, I'm not sure that's a good starting point.

reset/read user code, unlock, backup pm/rpl/etc these are harmless things you could try.
also flashing/sw upgrade is not hard if you follow the correct procedure.
